One of the most common disinformation tactics I see right now is false generalization. This tactic is often deployed by: 1) cherry-picking an outlier case, 2) falsely generalizing that this one case represents others, without proper evidence, 3) smear campaign targeting a larger community.

The Summit will continue its work to convene global scholars and policymakers to understand how information can be intentionally corrupted to impose harms on others like fraud, sexual assault, or war crimes.

The Summit does not promote “censorship.” In fact, it opens more discussion, not less.

Researchers do not need permission from government officials to engage in scientific inquiry.
