This amazing clip has reminded me of something that I think does need reminding: a few decades ago wasn't the stone age, Japan had the best AV tech in the 70s and 80s, and the principles of animation have been known and established for most of the 20th century.

I’ve heard it said that “building in public” is the best way to build in the age of AI, and I’m starting to see why that might be beneficial. If you were posting art/other things before AI, then it’s easy to claim that your work is your own. If you use AI, use it well and show us what’s possible

Asked ai to write a simple program. Take in user input and do some math and return an output. Took half an hour and several null pointer exceptions to give me a program that crashes when you open it. Can’t seem to program the simple stuff, so I’m still cautious to use it in actual development

Continuing with this example: Unlike steroids, in which their use can cause a permanent lifelong dependency on them, you have the choice to use AI or not. It’s something that you can truly start/stop using at any time! No permanent lifelong dependency!

I feel like being honest with AI use should be akin to being honest about using steroids when body building. Whether you use steroids or not there’s always a way to get the figure you want, while also being honest. But lying about your steroid use sets an unrealistic standard for everyone involved.
