I feel like the AI Will Be Conscious thing is similar to the idea of the singularity or like Elon Musk insisting that specific memories can be saved or deleted, like it's the same very literal understandings of the mind that yet all rely on magic we have no working model of or evidence for.

in Arkansas, even as a teen, I understood that I only got a good education because there were no private schools and the rich corporate Walmart vendors/shareholders living there put tons of money into the school system for their rich children's benefit. how else would they get into private colleges?

i used to eat liverwurst (or baked bean) sandwiches with mustard and mayo and sliced onion on white bread with my grandpa when I was a little kid, in part because no one else wanted to eat it with him i also liked fried frogs legs 🐸

noticed a little bald spot on the carpet while using a tapestry needle to push some raised/pulled yarns back into the backing, so i blended two colors of embroidery thread into a passable match, twisted it into a new cordage, and sewed it into the rug. yay~
