Every October, we love to remember that charmingly spooky Fruity Pebbles ad from 1999 where Barney dresses like a ghost/skeleton to steal Fred's pebbles. But, let's not forget that one year earlier, Post used deeply disturbing Cronenbergian body horror to sell Fruity Pebbles!

As aliens fly off into the Bedrock night in their flying saucer, they have left Fred and Barney alone in an eerily desolate stoneage street, their bodies mutilated and recontextualized, with limbs rearranged, and heads protruding from torsos. In Barney's case, his torso has been replaced with that of a turtle. Below, a purple alien grins with delight as it psychokinetically moves boxes of cereal

I don’t know if it was this one, but my youngest memory of being truly terrified was a Japanese Frankenstein movie. The monster made the same noise as my dad when he snored. My parents’ room was across the hall from mine, so there were many nights of terror.

Like there's a few jokes that imply an extension of Moltar's straight man status in C2C is that he's a feminist, and Moltar being pro-women continued to be a part of his character in Toonami where he had a couple memorable speeches about girl power promoting Thundercats and Sailor Moon

Lazzo was the heart of the problem but he absolutely wasn't the only guilty party at Adult Swim And points where it's due, the majority of the rest of the Space Ghost Coast to Coast team wasn't as bad as Lazzo in that regard, and there's jokes that wouldn't be in C2C if everyone there hated women

My Looney advice: 1. Bosko is optional and Buddy is off limits. 2. Start with "I Haven't Got A Hat" from 1935. Porky's early cartoons can be rough but it does get better. 3. Stop after "False Hare" from 1964. Nothing worthwhile comes after. 4. Avoid all war cartoons that don't involve Daffy Duck.

An opinion on cereal… The monster cereals were my favorite as a kid. They changed the formula in 1993 to an all corn-based cereal and it has tasted like ass ever since. I know it’s been 33 years, but how about, for pure nostalgia, go back to oat/corn base. I know General Mills still uses oats.
