The Harvest Moon is the full moon nearest the #AutumnEquinox. In 2026 it falls on 26 September. In Gaelic lore it was “Gealach an abachaidh”, the ripening moon, believed to ripen crops, and “Gealach bhuidhe nam broc”, the badgers’ yellow moon, when badgers gathered winter stores.
