「そば」の原料になる植物の名称は「そば」ですが、「うどん」の原料になる植物の名称は「うどん」ではありません。なぜでしょう？

Chǔshǔ(處暑), meaning "limit of heat", is the 14th solar term. It is the moment or the day when the Sun reaches the celestial longitude of 150°.
It is regarded as the time when the heat has passed its peak and is beginning to recede. But in Japan, the intense summer heat tends to continue during this period. Especially, in the western Japan today, the highest temperature extremely close to 40 degrees was recorded in many places. However, in the night, there are many sounds of katydids or crickets and they makes us feel that autumn is close.
By the way, why the girls in the illustration is in playboy bunny costume? Because "8-23" can be pronounced as "ba-ni-san(バニーさん)" in Japanese and some maniac people (*) call today "Bani-san (=Bunny) day".
