Around 2019 I started to get mega burned out on political social media. Twitter had gone from fun-yet-crazy public square to a gawking ground where all we did is give attention to vile people- who were being vile on purpose just to get that attention! Then all of society became that. Bummer!

Every week I further realize that Google shutting down reader is one of the worst things they’ve ever done. RSS (like podcasts) is the only true open protocol for web content that’s ever worked and it’s way too full of friction and management for most people to bother with. Reader made it so easy.
