Earlier this week, I agreed to interviews with two USA Today journalists. They wrote fantastic articles about the Cornell case that I'm proud to have been a part of. What I did not know is that their employer considers interviews to proprietary and opens up recordings to be used by any journalist.

When the “censorship industrial complex” myth was just getting started, in Fall 2022, I got a public records request from the AG’s office of Missouri looking for all my emails related to my team’s election rumor research. The Missouri AG at that time? Eric Schmitt. What a tool.

Downtown Ottawa has some very committed narcs who black out posters they don’t like. Nice to see a little pushback.
A small flyer poster to a light post. The text reads, “YES! to Political Posters / Elites may control our media… BUT WE CONTROL OUR STREETS / Corporate and state media control our communication as well as spread lies and propaganda / PROTECT FREE SPEECH / PUT UP POLITICAL POSTERS.” There’s a drawing of a circus clown messing with a poster on a post much like this one, and he’s labelled “YOU! Taking down this poster.” To the right is another poster that someone has attempted to black out key information on.

Fuck ChatGPT flyers. The future is broadsheets.
A crowded broadsheet with way too many fonts. It says:
Forget ChatGPT Flyers
Say it with
Broadsheets
Unlimited fonts
Stretch them
Or cram a really long sentence into one line for no good reason
No whitespace
Mix capital and lowercase

Don't be left behind

Today, in honor of Gloria Steinem (and in an effort to reckon with my complicated feelings about her legacy), I read the full first issue of Ms. It's a messy, passionate portrait of a type of feminist purpose I wish my younger self had known. Like Steinem, it ain't perfect. But it is powerful. RIP.

I will forever admire Wendell Berry's insistence on living his values through to their natural conclusions and relentlessly ripping through layers of politeness and habit to hold up for judgment those who do not.
Questionnaire
by Wendell Berry

How much poison are you willing
to eat for the success of the free
market and global trade? Please
name your preferred poisons.

For the sake of goodness, how much
evil are you willing to do?
Fill in the following blanks
with the names of your favorite
evils and acts of hatred.

What sacrifices are you prepared
to make for culture and civilization?
Please list the monuments, shrines,
and works of art you would
most willingly destroy

In the name of patriotism and
the flag, how much of our beloved
land are you willing to desecrate?
List in the following spaces
the mountains, rivers, towns, farms
you could most readily do without.

State briefly the ideas, ideals, or hopes,
the energy sources, the kinds of security;
for which you would kill a child.
Name, please, the children whom
you would be willing to kill.
