This ruling shows that proscribing Palestine Action was a grave misuse of terrorism laws. Labour must accept its mistake, drop its appeal and stop wasting taxpayers' money suppressing civil liberties. Degrading counter-terror powers is a genuine threat to national security.

Unless you follow the minutiae of the British Rowing website, you might have missed yesterday's announcement which will almost certainly put £1 per seat on entry fees this summer. This was done without any consultation with the clubs or regions at all.

RD Burnell who would never have struck me as a radical came to the conclusion in 1956 that HRR was on the wrong date. He was entirely correct. He suggested the best date would be late July or early August, which would be impractical but a date similar to that of the Brit Champs could be managed.
