Gary Easton @garyfungi.bsky.social · 5hI think it went downhill after I left and the zoo closed. We'd had a golden wedding celebration at the HInd for my grandparents so later had one for my parents. At my parents' event there was a police raid. I wonder what Ollie would make of it all. 000

Reposted by Gary EastonDr Richard Bate @thenewgalaxy.bsky.social · 07/10/20267/10/26 #Cumbria - Today’s find was one of my highlights of the year so far. The Date Waxcap (Hygrocybe spadicea) is one of the UK’s rarest #chegd fungi and one that is notoriously difficult to nail down. Hopefully will come across some better examples next time… 1386

Gary Easton @garyfungi.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Disappointed but not surprised that no fungi ( or plants) have made it onto the new banknotes. I felt that Calocybe gambosa was a good patriotic alternative to Winston Churchill. None of the animals chosen live solely in the UK but would be considered European. Perhaps that's a good sign. 110
