The people who screamed that children would be emotionally scarred by hearing a drag queen read “Jack and the Beanstalk” are OK with those same children watching Pete Hegseth’s livestream of a man getting his brains blown out by a bunch of guns.

Let’s be very clear: there is value in automating tedious and repetitive and dangerous tasks; there is value in delegating certain work to our machines that can do the work tirelessly and much faster.

Subverting democracy isn't new to John Roberts, Brett Kavanaugh, or Amy Coney Barrett. All three were on George W. Bush's "Florida Recount Team," which lay the groundwork for stopping vote counting in Florida—and Bush v. Gore, the politically-motivated SCOTUS decision that gave Bush the election.

Don’t ask an elected official if they “believe” in climate change, it’s not a religion. Don’t ask if they think it’s serious: it is. Ask them what matters most: what are they doing about it? Excellent application here, 10/10 no notes 👏⬇️👏

The princess took an earring off and held it out. The raven looked at it. "Whatever for?" "You are wise and clever. Many princesses have dragons, but none has a raven friend." The raven picked up the earring. "Say no more." "Friends?" she asked when it returned the next day. "Forevermore."

I was thinking about this on a snack break while I tossed an orange back and forth behind my back and walked to my desk, down stairs. Can we figure out which subsets of skills most quickly equate to growth in a more advanced skill? How do our brains know when to combine networks vs make a new one?

Imagine everything you do irl is a skill with its own stats and skill level that you can improve with repetition. If you toss a ball horizontally from one hand to the other in front of you, is that the same skill as tossing the ball with your eyes closed? Sitting, standing, behind your back?
