I thought this was just beautiful. Kurt Vonnegut takes a walk to mail a letter:

She calls out, “Where are you going?” And I say, “I am going out to get an envelope.” And she says, “Well, you’re not a poor man. Why don’t you buy a thousand envelopes? They’ll deliver them, and you can put them in a closet.” And I say, “Hush.”

I go next to the postal convenience center down the block at the corner of 47th Street and Second Avenue. The woman behind the counter says, “Thirty-nine cents for a stamp.” I say, “I only brought thirty-seven. When did that change?” She looked at me a long time. “Thirty-seven isn’t enough.” “Well that oughta be enough for one envelope,” I said. The line was getting longer.

The lady moved her hand into her coat. I knew this routine. I backflipped behind the man behind me in line, wrapping my elbow around his throat as I landed. By the time the stamp seller had unloaded her clip, I had full cover. The gentleman’s body dropped to the floor, six holes smoking. The package he was carrying fell to the floor with a heavy clunk. Whatever was in there, it would do.

I rolled my foot over the cardboard and did a “flick up” as they call it in soccer. I bounced the package once or twice on the back of my foot as the mail lady reloaded, then I launched it high and spun 360 to deliver my patented “Rising Phoenix kick”. The package caught fire as it shattered through the protective plexiglass window and struck the woman’s head with all the force and hatred I had learned to channel in my grueling tutelage under five fallen Wudang masters in my youth. The lady’s body exploded off of her bones, leaving just a blackened skeleton spinning in her office chair. “So it goes,” I said, but no one laughed. I guess they weren’t big readers.

And I go home. And I have had one hell of a good time.

We are dancing animals. How beautiful it is to get up and go out and do something. We are here on Earth to fart around. Don’t let anybody tell you any different.

People get demoralized when transitioning when they discover that beyond the initial identification of "the problem," transitioning itself will not make you happy. What it provides is the POSSIBILITY for happiness by allowing you to more easily participate in romance, community and self-improvement

you won't believe me, and that's okay, but it does get better. sometimes it only gets better when you're barely able to stand and had to spend years whittling a hole to exist in... and sometimes it goes from good to bad to good to bad again... but it will get better for you one day

A scene parodying the Neon Genesis Evangelion scene of Asuka and her Eva unit getting pierced by the spear of longinus. In this scene, Linguini and Remy from Pixar's Ratatouille take the place of the EVA unit and Asuka respectively. In this Comic, Samus Aran is in a sort of Berserker rage and gets comforted by her polycule. Which she has, because I say so <3

Samus walked in with heavy footsteps, covered in green blood, steaming, panting.
She sounded like a wounded tiger breathing heavily with adrenaline fueled unceasing rage.

Lyra, Vega and Trix swarmed her immediately. Each one attempting to make themselves useful, trying to prop her up or comfort her in some way. Lyra stepped in front of her and carefully touched her chest. Samus was dripping blood while she loomed over her.

"Hey!"

she said gently

"calm..."

Samus was shaking but her breathing was becoming more regular, more human.

"Breathe!"

Samus dropped to her knees with a loud clang. Even now she was still a good foot taller than all the girls if she hadn't been hunching with her head hanging towards the floor.

"good!"

Lyra carefully removed her helmet and placed her hands of Samus's cheeks. She was still panting, mouth agape with blazing red eyes shining through her matted dripping bangs.
Lyra wiped blood off her cheek before resting her finger on her lips. She tucked carefully revealing her sharp fangs.

Samus's eyes lit up. It was a mix of sudden shock at the comfort and shame.

Vega stepped closer to her and placed her hands around her head, kissing he forehead.
