I did a workshop at a school where one of the children forewarned me that their teacher had said very similar things - you can't learn anything from comics, they're "silly things", and "not proper reading"! I inserted this screen into my slideshow especially for that visit.

Going to a restaurant once we asked to be seated in the no smoking area, which we were. But it was just an invisible line down the middle of the floor and the table right next to us was a smoking one. We had to leave.

Thanks for this - my Gran and her Cameron family lived in Lilybank Road from around 1900 into the 1920s, nos. 44 and 38; and my Gran went to Glebelands School (photo).

Old work ... a cover I did for a local entertainments guide in 1993.

Cover for a magazine called '5D' - a greywash head portrait of Marc Bolan with stars, flowers, planets, a swan and a nymph in his long hair, the tag-line is 'T-Rextacy at the Felbridge' (a T-Rex covers band).

Can't answer your question (sorry) but I am going through the process of ditching Photoshop (after almost 30 years) for Affinity. Haven't fully explored it yet, but did my last two illo jobs fully in Affinity and they went ok. Still feels slightly alien and fiddly at the moment.

I wasn't allowed to join my daughter's school class Facebook group as they thought my name sounded "American". I suspect because they identified Ewing with TV prog Dallas (actually it's a Scottish name).
