we hosted a secret teahouse LAN party during Summer Game Fest this past weekend where we let a select group of folks play our still-unannounced debut game. it was so heartening to see the enthusiastic response to what we've been building!

hello i'm lincoln and this is my slide about Caves of Qud

- classic tile-based roguelike—aka "the good shit"—set in a science-fantasy deep future. a really rich setting revealed through esoteric prose, procedurally-generated histories, and conversations with non-human intelligences. also you can make a precognitive turtle man with an autocannon

- you can:
1) turn furniture into people
2) clone and befriend/eat yourself
3) contract an intelligent fungal infection that will whisper secrets about the world
4) become so psychic that you attract extradimensional hunters
... and so much more!

- i fought alongside a crab president for twelve of my human hours until invisible trolls threw axes at him to death

- the UI doesnt cause physical pain anymore

- water is their dollars

Hello! I've been a #gamedev for 20+ yrs. I was a Environment Artist for much of it but now I am the Operations Director at @gardens.dev. Prev I was Visual Director at Possibility Space, and worked on various cool stuff like Alyx at Valve. I'm probably most known for my env art work on Firewatch.
