Day 5: Was torn between this and Partitio’s theme from Octopath 2, but this is the perfect example of a character theme. Enoch Drebber is cold, mechanical, and extremely sinister, but he hides it under his strangeness and guile. It all comes through here. Helps that it slaps! youtu.be/7NS1nLErW9A

I know I spilled the beans months before they wanted it public, but man... fuck this. Private equity is killing the boutique labels that saved this industry and that ISN'T a coincidence. It's a targeted killing.

so this is the last time im going to mention this at all because getting in replies about it constantly is not worth it, but for reference, Jacob Geller has alluded to the situation before. He put weepy piano music over vaguely calling it 'social isolation' and then said he got a dog about it.

I thought reading an essay titled “What Do We Do With Jacob Geller?” would have a simple answer, but it doesn’t. This is really just a personal reflection shared publicly about someone struggling to end a parasocial relationship. I can share my answer, though; Block, delete, unfollow, purge.

i think the biggest thing i have to say on this dumbass art trend is that you cultivate your audience based on what you draw and how you act so do not be surprised if you follow a trend drawing fanart of an exclusionary franchise and now your audience is a bunch of shitheads while others leave

Regarding Jacob Geller, I feel disingenuous making any statement about him because I never really watched much of his content or knew him personally, but as a cis male video essayist... None of us are entitled platforms. None of us are owed an audience. And I can't trust someone who committed SA.

It’s so freaking good, in all variations too! There’s just something that’s special about it. I love a lot of baseline battle themes like Battle 1 in Octopath 1 or Fodlan Winds in Three Houses, but they tend to err on the more traditional fantasy side. Something this jazzy feels unique! I adore it.

"Redemption arc" yeah no I'm gonna stop you right there. Until Sony fully walks back their plan of getting rid of physical games, there is no redemption for them. And even if they do, it's gonna take a hell of a lot more than a new Ape Escape to facilitate that.

Hard to square any of what he said without the victim's input, but she shouldn't have to have gotten involved again at all. Just a disappointing situation all around and it betrays a lot that he chose to become a content creator knowing this was out there. Pure arrogance.

Others have said it but the line about sharing this info with folks close to him is wildly out of line when it suddenly makes it an open question how many of your peers knew, even if that was a lie he made up. Not much else to say, I agree that I hope the victim is alright at least.
