When the right began the trans stuff with the bathroom bill in NC, a swing state, even corpos and centrists fought back and the bill fizzled out. No pol who supported trans rights was hurt—Rs were humiliated. But Rs kept fighting and over time, centrists... seemed to forget the crusade was beatable.
