After a collective 28 hours of GPU time, the exosome for MD simulations for our iGEM project is ready. Now to do this exact thing 4 more times for other exosomes.

Some non-phage TEM today. It seems like our iGEM team has successfully managed to induce exosomes from HEK cells. Now to engineer its membrane and package our protein in it. #exosomes

This question has been on my mind for so long, because despite the field’s rapid progress there is currently no widely agreed framework in place to answer it. You know that antibiotic use can exert pressure on bacterial populations to evolve resistance. So are vaccines exerting similar pressure on viruses? Let's talk about how vaccines MIGHT make viruses evolve to be LESS harmful over time. Warning: I'm speaking broadly here & biology loves exceptions.

Screening some mutant phages and can’t help but feel bad about this guy who: 1. Had his head burst (Red selection is where the head was supposed to be) 2. Tail tube broke in half RIP unnamed phage. You will be missed.

I can't see these names being adopted in the short to medium term. I certainly won't be insisting on their use. Just keep in mind that creation of new names doesn't formally ban old ones. So whatever facilitates clearest communication is best. www.science.org/content/arti...
