I'll go with Mary Butts (1890-1937). Her work isn't well known because it's quite avant-garde, but she gave us "Speed the Plow" (1923), one of the most truly shocking stories ever written. She also wrote excellent pamphlets critiquing rationalism. #HorrorWritersChat

C. L. Moore just because she was so cool and one of my biggest influences. What would we create? Something really weird, of course. #HorrorWritersChat

Hello! I'm Travis and I write strange stories. The first horror film I saw was Creature from the Black Lagoon on my local TV station when I was 4. It was in 3D and the local hardware store had the glasses. I wrote my first story immediately after seeing it. (Actual photo, 1983.) #HorrorWritersChat

Creating the cover illustration for Many Wade Wellman's 'Fearful Rock' I used charcoal and graphite to create a drawing, made a Sator square on the opposite side in traditional iron gall ink using a dried cowpea pod as a pen, and placed the paper in my worm bin to see how the soil biota transform it
