Seriously, go to Reddit, post any pic of something broken to pieces or make any metaphor comparing a situation or relationship to broken pieces. You will see the word “kintsugi” within 10 comments. Makes me wonder if any of the other slang discussed is based in memes I don’t know about.

The AI dialects thing is fascinating but I was struck by this paragraph. If “kintsugi” is not in your natural vocabulary, you are insufficiently online to interpret slang based on message board posts.

When a Google agent said "True Kintsugi begins with accountability, not poetry", the researchers realised kintsugi is a branch of Japanese ceramics in which broken pots are mended with visible joins. The Als used the word to mean system resilience.

As far as I can see, the pdf they link says 86% of food waste was diverted and 96% of packaging was plastic free, while the results they post say those numbers were 70% and 34% respectively. I can’t find anyone discussing how it’s flat out incorrect? What the hell is the use case for this????
