i was a kid watching that exciting russia 2008 team, then when a bunch of them moved to england all that was left for me to do was pick a team. so i started to support tottenham, and when de zerbi leaves i'll be able to support them again :)

Black text on white background
"This day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers. It marks three years since the horrific war crimes of October 7. On that day, Hamas killed more than 1,100 Israelis and abducted 251 others. We grieve alongside our many friends and neighbors who still carry that unthinkable loss.

The suffering did not begin nor end that day. It instead continued through the Israeli government’s devastating, ongoing genocide in Gaza, in which it has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians—including more than 21,000 children. Even since the so-called ceasefire, more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed. That suffering has intensified with every Israeli bomb dropped on ambulances waiting outside hospitals, every drone strike targeting a residential building or journalist, and every shipment of food aid turned away at a border crossing. Many New Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief, and we mourn alongside them – all while knowing that our tax dollars fund these war crimes.

Three years later, we must refuse to accept a world in which occupation and apartheid continue, where war crimes are met with impunity, and our federal government continues its complicity with every arms shipment.

To honor the dead, we must fight for a world in which every person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity."

the worst sprawly traits of calgary and edmonton are still vastly better than their equivalents in the denver or minneapolis metro areas, to me. i'm just never really prepared for the depths that american cities can reach (in planning/transport terms)

Pen, watercolor, acrylic paint, black & white charcoal pencil.

One of my favorite pieces from my new book, Spooky Pants. Coming out this October.

A small cabin in the snow surrounded by trees. Two cabin people stand outside holding mugs of hot cider. One of them shouts out, “Big Fella, we got hot apple cider happening over here.” On the other side of the page we see Big Fella, a massive spider emerging from the forest.

Artist’s note: The spider only has 6 legs.. I made a mistake. However, I did read that some spiders can lose their legs in battle so maybe that’s what happened. Also, this drawing was probably directly inspired by the game Limbo. I love the art direction in it.

i just think you never know where a public figure is donating privately, and it's not their job to share this, especially when they already do cool stuff in public, right? also, publicly modeling caring about palestinian lives is really important, showing that it's the most normal thing in the world

It's Sunday. Here's a church. St. Jane de Chantal worship site, part of St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, 5252 S. Austin, Chicago. 1964, William Pavlecic, architect.
Church completed in 1964 has a serrated roof line with overhanging eaves culminating in a soaring A-frame supported by a massive beam. The area under the A-frame is filled in with a floor-to-ceiling grid of windows, many of which are frosted and contain portraits of religious figures. The walls of the church that aren't glass are variegated buff brick.

disrupting the supply of fast-delivery treats has to be part of it. puncturing the comfort of russian society isn't really done by trying to hit the czar's estate. there's only so much that they can do to make living in russia more inconvenient, though, so you're both right that it's a (1/2)
