The most recent remotely related case anyone has mentioned to me was that of Tsar Peter III, who surrendered to Prussia when Russia was about to win the 7 Years' War. And was killed by his wife a few months later.

Of course when Russia said Ukraine had bioweapons labs what they really meant was that they did. There's a lot we don't know about the current situation. Russia should be bringing in experts from the WHO to clarify and advise. Will they? www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

even things like g**gle maps, which used to be AMAZING and now is obstructive, obfuscating, all but useless advertising and misinformation bullshit - even big coordination things like that CAN BE DONE without the comemierda companies - wikipedia, among others, shows that.

Key point: The news is not Putin trying to subvert “the West”: Brexit, AfD, Le Pen, Orban, everything remotely right wing he supported. The news is that the U.S. have turned. There is no “West” anymore. There is a fragile island of liberal democracies in Europe encircled by autocracies.
While I saw some real weaknesses in Biden's policy towards Ukraine (and still do), he remained absolutely committed to the Atlantic alliance.

A confirmed lab leak that we’re all hearing about. As opposed to the secret COVID conspiracy that there’s no evidence for but every major media outlet nonetheless gave credence to under pressure from the right and hallucinating op-ed columnists.

"Empire of Grift” by @anneapplebaum.wsocial.eu
Slowly, the Brazilians were learning the same lesson as other American allies around the world: The United States of America is no longer the entity they knew. And American power is no longer deployed solely by trained diplomats and reliable officials, working through state channels. Informal envoys, private companies, online grifters, and hardened ideologues both inside and outside the government matter more. Unlike their predecessors, these people do not talk about spreading democracy, and don’t want to build long-term relationships. They don’t care about America’s reputation. They are deploying the tools of American diplomacy and government for their own purposes, to promote their own business interests or their own ideological goals, because, suddenly, they can.

The whole Bernie bros post-left gang. It’s just when they come out and how: misogynist, racist, anti-Semitic, Kremlin fans, or whatnot. I can’t recall if Tracey was part of a Russian pro-rape rag or of a podcast promoting the genocide of Armenians but they’re all the same.

Oil flow through Hormuz in September was 500 million barrels. That required $80 billion in US military expenditures, an effective subsidy of $160 dollars per barrel. Each gallon of Gulf gasoline receives a subsidy of $4 from American taxpayers.

It is taking the full attention of the American Armed Forces - they are not able to do anything else. Defending Saudi Arabia, keeping the Red Sea safe, supporting allies - nothing else is possible. The full Pentagon budget. One can put a money value to this: around $80 billion a month.

Of 200 countries belonging to the UN, 77 walked out. The majority are barely functioning democracies or dictatorships, including the worst of them, like North Korea, Iran, Burma, and the Saudi. Countries attending include almost all democracies - most of Europe, Japan, South Korea, India, Canada…

Xi has watched Russia's supposedly powerful army destroyed by Ukraine, and the USA's much stronger one humiliated by Iran. Also, the Saudi large military budget powerless against a small terrorist band in Yemen. Xi is smart enough to know that China could overestimate their military effectiveness.
