When I started writing about Supreme Court expansion, you couldn’t get the question *asked* in a poll. The first time I saw it actually polled, it was 8%. Now, we here.

How many other issues have support from 91 percent of Republicans AND Democrats? Corrupt, bribe-taking Supreme Court Justices, who decide cases based on falsehoods and hypotheticals for their own personal gain, are unacceptable to ALL Americans. Corrupt Justices need to be held accountable.

If you dig even one millimeter down into the bedrock of “boys playing girls’ sports” you’ll find a toxic layer of believing that girls’ sports should be banned altogether because girls who play sports are tomboys and lesbians that don’t adhere to traditional feminine gender rolls.

We don’t just need “AI” regulation, we need tech regulation and liability. It’s not just about “AI”, it’s about search, social, and commerce too. For far too long we’ve let algorithms push addiction and falsehoods that harm users, protect monopolies, increase division, and prompt people to hate.

Could you imagine if a car company said, “We’ve built a new car that uses tens of thousands of times more gas than previous models, doesn’t get you where you’re going any faster, and sometimes randomly veers off the road but we don’t know why”? That’s what “AI” companies are saying right now.

Instead, the list puts forth that there’s not a single anime produced in the last 26 years that’s better than Scandal (100) or The Gilmore Girls (99). That feels purposeful to me. Intentionally ignorant. And classist, to be frank.

All white supremacists hate JFK, whom they blame for integration. It drives them insane that JFK is the only modern President with Federal monuments erected in his name. The common thread of this administration has been erasing JFK, along with the norms and policies he originated, from our country.

Why doesn’t it occur to newspeople that the public may have liked the sound of the “AI” sales pitch, but the more they’ve encountered and used the product the more they’ve decided it is just a bad product? Why do they assume that falling opinions about “AI” must be due to “ignorance of the masses”?

Frump posted a (slop) picture of Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, central America, Greenland, and Iceland as part of the United States, so why are U.S. newsrooms focusing on Iceland’s and Greenland’s reactions, not the fact that Frump wants open borders with Mexico, the Caribbean, and central America?

A near supermajority of spending now comes from the wealthiest few, who mostly hold their wealth in stocks. As long as those wealthy few can continue to spend, stocks can continue to do well. As long as stocks can continue to do well, those wealthy few can continue to spend.

I still think markets and local governments are downplaying the medium-term risks that quantum poses to data centers. Colorado’s history with abandoned mines and oil wells is a cautionary tale of the environmental and economic disaster that awaits us if we fail to plan for this inevitability.

Democrats seem unaware that the “immigration crackdown” is largely about the census. It is one of the reasons Republicans forcibly move people to “red states” upon detainment. That way, even if deportations are not successful, “red states” can count the imprisoned as part of their population.

From earlier this week, I wrote about how the manosphere scam works and how the GOP has adopted those same tactics for itself www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...
Social scientists have found that when men think their masculinity is being questioned, they may dismiss that challenge as irrelevant, they may quietly feel bad or insecure, or they may overcompensate by trying to behave in a more stereotypically masculine fashion. And that last reaction is where the dollars are. Be a man and buy a gun. Get the manly cereal for men. Wipe your butt with the wet wipes for men. Get the manly-smelling deodorant. Eat the manly steak. It’s no coincidence that gambling apps and crypto companies have spent so much money on ads that make giving them your money seem adventurous.

Just as the manosphere and its galaxy of hucksters want you to fork over your cash so you can feel better about yourself as a man, Republicans want to make you feel insecure about your masculinity so that you vote Republican. Masculinity, in this sense, is a lifestyle product: one that comes with a set of political beliefs predicated on the subjugation of women, minority groups, and anyone else who men are told are their inferiors.

Astronomy, biology, and history tell us that DST is a bad idea, which didn’t live up to its promises, and making it (instead of Standard Time) permanent is anti-fact and anti-science. Democrats who support permanent DST are pandering to this era’s worst qualities. Is this really the best we can do?

Jerome Powell is not a good or courageous person. He is a monopoly loving Trump appointee whose top priority has been fighting against fair and equal treatment of workers, worker’s rights, and better working conditions. He is, in large part, personally responsible for the worst inflation since 1990.

As capitalism becomes monopoly, profits for the monopolists increase - propping up stock prices - but opportunity for everyone else falls. Confidence in the ability of individuals to succeed in small business plummets. So, even as stock prices rise, everyone except the monopolists sees a crisis.

The massive jump in the Producer Price Index and declining Real Income would have House Republicans more concerned if they hadn’t already gerrymandered their guaranteed victory. What I don’t understand is why the Democrats can’t turn this into a Senate landslide. Why do they ignore so many States?

To borrow from Eisenhower… The cost of one officer is this: more than 20,000 school lunches provided free of charge. It is five families housed for a year. We pay for a new police car with a fully funded restaurant. We put one person in jail for one night instead of feeding a family for a month.

Wall Street is now pricing in nearly 4% inflation as the new normal for the US, a rate consistent with some of the world’s least productive economies. Although it gets much less attention, the Federal Reserve, like the Supreme Court, is going through a major, country-ruining, institutional failure.

Glancing at a near future “sci-fi” short story that I wrote back in the day and, I just have to say, I wish we still called “apps” widgets and “smart phones” digital assistants. The language we’ve chosen to describe apps and smartphones completely misstates what those things actually are.
