When I started writing about Supreme Court expansion, you couldn’t get the question *asked* in a poll. The first time I saw it actually polled, it was 8%. Now, we here.

How many other issues have support from 91 percent of Republicans AND Democrats? Corrupt, bribe-taking Supreme Court Justices, who decide cases based on falsehoods and hypotheticals for their own personal gain, are unacceptable to ALL Americans. Corrupt Justices need to be held accountable.

People who say “I can’t tell the difference between boys and (trans) girls” in sports are actually saying that they think girls who play sports “look boyish”. Pretending that the distinction is difficult to grasp is an insult to all girls that play sports. It’s telling them that they’re not “girly”.
000
Daniel Foster @fosterprogress.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
If you dig even one millimeter down into the bedrock of “boys playing girls’ sports” you’ll find a toxic layer of believing that girls’ sports should be banned altogether because girls who play sports are tomboys and lesbians that don’t adhere to traditional feminine gender rolls.

We don’t just need “AI” regulation, we need tech regulation and liability. It’s not just about “AI”, it’s about search, social, and commerce too. For far too long we’ve let algorithms push addiction and falsehoods that harm users, protect monopolies, increase division, and prompt people to hate.

Could you imagine if a car company said, “We’ve built a new car that uses tens of thousands of times more gas than previous models, doesn’t get you where you’re going any faster, and sometimes randomly veers off the road but we don’t know why”? That’s what “AI” companies are saying right now.

Instead, the list puts forth that there’s not a single anime produced in the last 26 years that’s better than Scandal (100) or The Gilmore Girls (99). That feels purposeful to me. Intentionally ignorant. And classist, to be frank.

Adorning the White House in gold, tearing down the East Wing, changing the colors of Air Force One, spurning Presidential Debates, defunding and dismantling certain programs but not others, paving over the Rose Garden, and tearing down the Kennedy Center all attack the legacy of one President: JFK.

Daniel Foster @fosterprogress.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
All white supremacists hate JFK, whom they blame for integration. It drives them insane that JFK is the only modern President with Federal monuments erected in his name. The common thread of this administration has been erasing JFK, along with the norms and policies he originated, from our country.

Why doesn’t it occur to newspeople that the public may have liked the sound of the “AI” sales pitch, but the more they’ve encountered and used the product the more they’ve decided it is just a bad product? Why do they assume that falling opinions about “AI” must be due to “ignorance of the masses”?

I use chronological feeds wherever possible, which means I can reach the “end” of the feed. I occasionally compare the feeds, and there is A LOT less rage-bait and misinformation in the chronological feed compared to the algorithmic feed. The result? Less “engagement” and time spent on the platform.
000
Daniel Foster @fosterprogress.bsky.social · 10/09/2026
“…Engagement ultimately fell by as much as 50 per cent … ‘you spend a lot less time on the platform,’ he said.” That’s why “Meta” forces you to manually choose the chronological feed every time you open their platforms instead of letting you keep the chronological feed as your default setting.

To be clear, *I* support free movement and trade between us and our neighbors, but does Frump? Are newsrooms going to ask any questions about it? Will they ask why Frump is wasting tens of billions of dollars building a wall on the border of a country he envisions as part of the United States?
000
Daniel Foster @fosterprogress.bsky.social · 09/09/2026
Frump posted a (slop) picture of Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, central America, Greenland, and Iceland as part of the United States, so why are U.S. newsrooms focusing on Iceland’s and Greenland’s reactions, not the fact that Frump wants open borders with Mexico, the Caribbean, and central America?

Do you know of any polling that has asked why people voted against the Park Hill development? Anecdotally, NIMBYism/property values is not the reasoning I’ve heard. It also seems like the Mayor, not the community, pushed to make it a park instead of addressing the actual concerns behind the no vote.

Does the self-perpetuating cycle of the wealthy propping up stocks and stocks propping up the wealthy ever stop, or will it continue forever despite all the other signs pointing to an impending economic collapse of massive proportions?
000
Daniel Foster @fosterprogress.bsky.social · 26/08/2026
A near supermajority of spending now comes from the wealthiest few, who mostly hold their wealth in stocks. As long as those wealthy few can continue to spend, stocks can continue to do well. As long as stocks can continue to do well, those wealthy few can continue to spend.

It’s far more likely that I just accurately highlighted the United States’s strengths, and that, since then, Republicans have done everything they can to attack those things in order to make the US dramatically weaker, especially when it comes to our country’s capacity for combating corruption.

Daniel Foster @fosterprogress.bsky.social · 21/08/2026
Logically, I know that a single conversation with me, a nobody, probably didn’t lead directly to anything, but the corruption of today seems to specifically attack the institutions I highlighted in that conversation all too closely.

I once told a Chinese exchange student that part of the United State’s economic success comes from courts holding corrupt officials accountable, and I sometimes worry that conversation somehow lead to the ridiculously corrupt, bribe-taking, delay-until-it’s-too-late courts we have today.

I still think markets and local governments are downplaying the medium-term risks that quantum poses to data centers. Colorado’s history with abandoned mines and oil wells is a cautionary tale of the environmental and economic disaster that awaits us if we fail to plan for this inevitability.

In a few years, Democratic leaning states will lose votes because Republicans are spending over $100 billion to forcibly remove millions of people from their homes. Republicans also seem to be following the disgusting, genocidal playbook of stealing homes and possessions from the forcibly moved.

Daniel Foster @fosterprogress.bsky.social · 19/08/2026
Democrats seem unaware that the “immigration crackdown” is largely about the census. It is one of the reasons Republicans forcibly move people to “red states” upon detainment. That way, even if deportations are not successful, “red states” can count the imprisoned as part of their population.

From earlier this week, I wrote about how the manosphere scam works and how the GOP has adopted those same tactics for itself www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...
Social scientists have found that when men think their masculinity is being questioned, they may dismiss that challenge as irrelevant, they may quietly feel bad or insecure, or they may overcompensate by trying to behave in a more stereotypically masculine fashion. And that last reaction is where the dollars are. Be a man and buy a gun. Get the manly cereal for men. Wipe your butt with the wet wipes for men. Get the manly-smelling deodorant. Eat the manly steak. It’s no coincidence that gambling apps and crypto companies have spent so much money on ads that make giving them your money seem adventurous.

Just as the manosphere and its galaxy of hucksters want you to fork over your cash so you can feel better about yourself as a man, Republicans want to make you feel insecure about your masculinity so that you vote Republican. Masculinity, in this sense, is a lifestyle product: one that comes with a set of political beliefs predicated on the subjugation of women, minority groups, and anyone else who men are told are their inferiors.

I know dissing BlueSky as an unnecessary extra, and saying that it isn’t as good as the anti-sex (and thus doomed to fail) Threads, is what all the cool and popular kids do, but if you’re a Democratic politician that still posts on “X” but DOES NOT post on BlueSky, that says something about you.

If Frump got elected while Obama was President, and Frump got elected while Biden was President, but Frump did not get elected when Frump was President because of a lack of election security, isn’t the logical conclusion that Democrats run secure elections and Republicans run insecure elections?

Astronomy, biology, and history tell us that DST is a bad idea, which didn’t live up to its promises, and making it (instead of Standard Time) permanent is anti-fact and anti-science. Democrats who support permanent DST are pandering to this era’s worst qualities. Is this really the best we can do?
