Oleshky is in occupied Kherson, along the right bank of the Dnipro. The Russian occupiers have been laying siege to it for several months, and Ukraine has been seeking to negotiate a humanitarian corridor to alleviate the crisis, asking humanitarian organizations to assist the efforts to no avail.

in the best-case scenario, a person might eat a clear broth and a few spoonfuls of porridge a day—if they have any porridge left at all. All the supplies that local residents tell me about whenever a connection is established are running out and will be gone by late September or early October.
