Agreed, which is why I’m glad there are so many YIMBY orgs pushing on both sides—in IL, AHIL endorsed tenant protections in PRO and has supported policies to create more income restricted housing. At least in Chicago, I think that’s more the norm than the exception among the urbanist set

some questions you can ask to evaluate a new "public bathroom" 1. can a child use it without an adult? 2. can you use it at night? 3. can a disabled person use it? 4. is it owned by a vendor? 5. does it require technology? 6. are people being paid to clean it?

Totally. I still maintain the solution isn't "build more housing there," but "give other neigborhoods the same amenities like walkability, transit, non-suburban retail possibilities." Most of the housing stock and grid support that in Chicago.

TSA in Bellingham says I can't bring a ulock on the plane. TSA website of prohibited items doesn't mention it. Alaska airlines in Bellingham didn't charge me for my bike bag because I asked for a receipt and they didn't have a printer, so I checked my other bag with the lock.

My work. Judge Walowski is seeking retention following a wave of reversals by the appellate court. In one case, the court reversed a conviction because Walowski forced a defense attorney to proceed to trial as he recovered from a bout with food poisoning bad enough to call for hospitalization.

I was nervous flying with my bike so showed up to the airport very early and got checked in and through security, even with an extra bag review by TSA in 15 min. But also got to the airport before the breakfast places were even open.
