Wait, so he used AI in the production of his book on truth and then was shocked to learn that what it had given him was AI generated slop? And now he’s the victim having released a book with HIS name on it that was written in part by AI?

The Green Party “Zionism is racism” vote has gone down very badly and revealed that many activist members didn’t even know what Zionism meant. But the real question is - how will Polanski dig himself and his party out of this mess?

I condemn genocide too. But the motion targeted “zionists”.

It was for the leadership to provide that missing context and information to the members when dealing with such a delicate subject with so much history. But instead they stepped back.

Indeed. What a mess. This comes down to simplism and populism. Nobody takes the time to discuss what Zionism means or who believes which version of it. They just want to yell at Israel. So many waving their hands in the air understand so little about the region and the background.

What really struck me watching Channel 4 investigation into Reform is that the wilful breaking of electoral law isn’t an accident - it’s by design At every turn it’s Reform - Orr, Dan Jukes - saying how to break the law Exactly why I’ve been banging on about weak election law for so long

Looks like a sensible approach to me to state clearly what AI can and can't be used for. The problem will come with enforcement of course, but that shouldn't stop Berkeley from stating their values and objectives.

That these racist thugs have morphed into "far right influencers" is central. Being a bigot used to be a hobby. It is now a profession. We don't have to treat the monetisation of hate as an inevitable phenomenon. We can regulate platforms - not to supress speech, but to remove financial incentives.

Until 2018 Tories always had 8,000+ councillors. Totally dominant in English local gov't. Reform's POLITICAL EARTHQUAKE act depends on not being seen as a far-right Tory imprint. Because same 8.000 seats just split between Tory and I-Can't-Believe-It's-Not-Tory is not an earthquake. It's a big fart.

“Farage is rarely pictured without a pint in his hand. But in his case it is presented as something that makes him ordinary, blokey, closer to voters. A sort of testament to his 'realness'. While, in Rayner's case, it is evidence that she is unreliable, dangerous, and - worst of all - unladylike.”

That’s why it’s risky - because black hat hackers could use it to have systems that aren’t sufficiently hardened. And that’s also why Anthropic have chosen to give access to Mythos to the big software developers like Microsoft so that they can use it to harden their extremely widely used OS..

What you said was alarmist and wrong. Mythos is an AI model designed to help software developers find bugs in their code. It’s quite good at it and because of that it can be used to find bugs in other people’s code, especially where source code is available such as open source software.

Remember back in the early days of computing where TV reporters would always preface any discussion of computers with, “I don’t really understand these things but..”. That’s what you’re doing with AI lately in this episode.
