My only concern is that it’s always felt a bit pricey here but I guess it’s not that different from meat these days. I’ve been watching some videos from a UK creator who does £5 meals and she uses halloumi from time to time and it’s so cheap over there!

A reasonably budgeted comedy or a low budget thriller doesn’t keep the lights on in the production office. You’re meant to go off and make that one on YouTube with your mates and an iPhone. This isn’t how telly used to be. It doesn’t really feel like telly at all.

Coming as I do from a BBC comedy background, I have a shitload of suggestions for how to make great television programmes more cheaply (such as not budgeting them at $10m+ per episode) none of which anyone is interested in. They don’t want cheaper TV. They want cheaper people.
