It's basically a speaker without the parts of a speaker that make noise. The cassette deck amplifies the signal, so it doesn't need to be amplified.

With an ordinary tape, you would get the signal that the deck would translate into sound by moving the tape across the cassette decks reading head, but because the signal is already live from some kind of audio device, you don't need motion to create the signal.

Because I can't help myself: inside the cassette body is an electromagnet that makes contact with the electromagnetic reader or "head" in the cassette deck. The head reads the signal from the cassette adapter instead of the signals from the magnetic tape of an ordinary cassette.

I had a used 1992 Grand Marquis with the "premier" audio system, and this tape adapter with a CD MP3 player, and hand to god I could turn the volume all the way up with no distortion.

Part of what you're seeing with El-Sayed, Ossoff and Jackson having remarkably aggressive debate performances tonight is candidate quality. These are good candidates. But another huge part is that MAGA is finally unpopular enough to where Dem consultants feel it is advantageous to attack it in full.
