Like, Ignition and your version of Alphabet Boy have an effortlessness about them that previous albums didn't quite have, imo. They aren't as dazzeling, but they do exactly what they need to hit at the exact right place. It's crazy how good you are at this even when limited by awful circumstances.

I recently looked at a comic page I made in 2019 and felt it had so much more going for it than anything I made recently. The quality of my work is a lot more consistent though, I can cobble something together and it will pretty much always be decent. I still developed, I just don't have the energy.

the comparisons to photography don't hold either. a photo is an intentional manipulation of reality, a choice to interact with a certain stream of light in a certain way, with prompting yr just interfacing with someone else's procedure they've already laid out for you. it's art but it's not yours
