Are we trying to outdo each other? 😂 I left home at 18, lived in a flat in Richmond for 2 years, moved to Carlton near Rathdowne St for a bit then St Kilda Barkly St for 2 yrs then above a shop on Johnston St Collingwood near The Tote for ages then Coburg for a while. Then regional Vic: the best! :)

I am also spiritually Victorian, though born in Sydney (then Wollongong, Brisbane, Papua New Guinea, then Melbourne)… Now I just love Bendigo and regional Victoria generally.

Coldstuff Ice-cream • Follow

I swear to God. STOP YELLING AT MY FUCKING EMPLOYEES. They are children. This job, for most of them is their first. They are going to make mistakes. They aren't in charge of anything. This can all be fixed with a smile and a polite attitude. It's ice cream for crying out loud. Grow up and act your age.

Absolutely. Especially if you’ve got chooks, or other feathered friends who have homes in your trees. Why the cloak-and-dagger approach? Makes no sense.

Interesting. They told us (ie. my work, the ABC in Bendigo) that they’d let us know what this illness is/was. Interesting they wouldn’t tell others…? I wonder why. People may certainly wish to know if bird flu was in their suburb/ town/ district/ area… 🤔

We all understand laws and regulations re: bushfire prevention but a bit of common sense needs to come into play here. That’s outrageous. Like you say, it’s bureaucracy gone mad.

Bureaucracy gone mad? Trees gone without notice. At Elphinstone Primary School near Castlemaine: “They tried to pull out the kids' cabbages & strawberries from the kitchen garden.” At Carisbrook Primary: Among the trees removed was a Lone Pine seeded from Gallipoli. www.abc.net.au/news/2026-10...

Mass Ibis death at Lake Weeroona #Bendigo. I went to have a look just then. Some Ibis looking very lethargic, not moving. They’re usually so active. Way less Ibis than when I was there Wednesday. Don’t know if it’s H5N1 bird flu yet but whatever it is it’s distressing. www.abc.net.au/news/2026-10...

I mean the stupid thing on my part is that they usually annoy me and in the warmer weather it’s a bit whiffy walking past, but seeing the flock and the area where they roost like this is very sad.

Here’s the most incredible story you’ll read today. A small plane with four people aboard crashes in a field. Another pilot witnesses it. That pilot happens to be flying a bunch of skydivers. They offer to jump to assist, are given permission. The skydivers happen to be EMTs. Everyone survives.
