Maine is so sparsely populated that many of the tactics that worked in Chicago and Minneapolis just take too many people

Campus rape is really widespread; statistics suggest a significant percent of women who go to college will be raped there; feminism opened up a good conversation about it around 2012-13; it's weird when people treated Cornell like an isolated rather than dramatic example of a pervasive problem.

This difference is especially stark at a time when the national media has zeroed in on a tiny group of LGBTQ people over interpersonal conflict versus a group of young men who have also been publicly identified over the alleged crime of gang rape

I cannot stress how important it is to actually make sure this story gets to as many Maine voters as possible. I have routinely spoken with voters over the past few months who still have very little understanding of just how deceitful Collins is despite the facts. That needs to change! #mepolitics

Collins should resign immediately, suspend her campaign, and be charged. But we all know she won't, so it's even more important that Troy Jackson win in november

This man objected to my warning that apocalyptic "AI extinction" talk is corporate ploy for regulatory capture, marketing, and side stepping accountability. He said he left DeepMind, like the Anthropic "whistleblower." So lets have a brief history lesson about DeepMind's origins in doomer cults🧵

False

1. I literally quit my Google DeepMind job & lost >>$300k to call out harms regarding autonomous weapons... and extinction risk is still more important, which is why I'm speaking out + working to solve it

2. GDM does NOT want to stoke fears about extinction risks lol

25 years ago, we turned one horror into thousands, hundreds of deaths into millions. Has the American empire learned anything from it? Have our politicians who cannot denounce genocide? We took this one tragedy and sunk everything into bombs while our own worlds collapsed.
Screenshot of a comment I made. Contents:

I was a few weeks younger than 5 years old, at kindergarten in Connecticut, when the towers fell. I remember very little of the day besides a confused malaise. The next year I answered a question "who is the president" and "what do you know about him" with "he is an idiot" because my parents got angry whenever they watched the TV. A picture of me was above the fold a year later standing in the cold and dark holding a "bring our troops home" sign that was bigger than I was while Congress signed the aumf that we've kept renewing to this day.

A financial crisis later, I went to college calculating that the salaries I could command with my fancy degree in tech were worth less than what my dad earned as a sonar engineer out of the same school 35 years before. The wars that were started when I was that little kid in the cold still hadn't ended.

Abortion is healthcare. That’s common sense to me. But Susan Collins helped give us a Supreme Court that overturned Roe — and today, a majority of the US Senate still stands in the way of restoring abortion rights nationwide. Let's flip the Senate and restore Roe. That starts right here in Maine.

They have solar, and my apartment was utility-included, so I'm not a good example for electricity price stuff. But all-electric is usually 3.3 mi/kwh in the summer (i5-sized suv), and 2.9 in winter. Add about 10% (pessimistically) for charging overhead and that's probably a good usage ceiling

My partner just got a phev down here in MA. Charging overnight is critical to keep from needing gas, and they're pretty efficient on trad hybrid mode. The rav4 prime gets 40ish miles on a charge, and I'd only recommend one like it if a typical daily drive is less than that round-trip or to a charge

I road tripped from saco to monson for the eclipse in the spring of 23 and it was pretty easy to stop at some mediocre-speed l3 chargers at Hannaford or the gardiner rest stop each way, even with eclipse traffic. Charging on trips has only gotten better since, but infra is a bit sparse up north

Schade @fightfil.space · 21/08/2026
I went from about 280 on a full charge in the summer to a hair over 200 midwinter, even on 0-degree days. Starting the car while still plugged in is a great thing. Even a 20a 220v circuit is more than enough to keep up with a larger driving appetite.

My parents have had one for about 8 years and I had one living in Saco for 3. Going from the leaf to the ioniq 5. Charging at home with a normal 110 outlet, very doable if you're not driving every day or only drive about 30mi a day. Winter range drops a bit, especially for highway driving
