Ake Ake Ake – A Forever Language. As we mark Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2026, here are some moments from the work of Hinemoana Baker, Ruby Solly, essa may ranapiri, Amber Esau and Tayi Tibble that reflect on the power, history, present and future of reo.
The spines of five books are shown, leaning on a brick – text on the spine shows that they are Funkhaus by Hinemoana Baker, The Artist by Ruby Solly, Echidna by essa may ranapiri, Hungus by Amber Esau, and Rangikura by Tayi Tibble. They are outside in a grassy area.
