I've been ordering from a new-to-me Thai place and it's very tasty but I still haven't figured out how to ask for the spice level I want. "Extra hot, please 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️" doesn't even make my nose run but "I want this dish to make me confront my own mortality" is kind of a lot to throw at a busy cook.

I started to read a relatively popular Regency novel where the author used period language but didn't check definitions, so early on referred to the FMC learning to "cast up her accounts" (which means to vomit) in the belief it meant bookkeeping. Had to nope out after about the 5th similar error.

I have an ambiguous name and an ambiguous voice, so it's a toss up if a stranger on the phone will call me sir vs ma'am. For the past couple of weeks I've consistently gotten "sir" from male-presenting people and "ma'am" from female-presenting people. Did I accidentally discover binary camoflage?

I finally got a reasonable accommodation (thanks to autism diagnosis) to work from home 100% of the time and I feel like I've had a second full-time job taken off my plate. No more commuting, distracting environment, smalltalk, or trying to think on multiple levels while also wearing shoes. Phew. 😮‍💨
