Drugs not a constitutional issue. ScotGov has plenty of powers to tackle this ongoing crisis "as it sees fit". While some drug policy is reserved to Westminster, health is fully devolved "and as the SNP has correctly identified, this is a public health issue." Excellent @holyroodmag.bsky.social

Scotland's native wildlife is sorely depleted and at risk from invasive species. I'm hugely grateful to the young team working hard to control mink that are such a threat to biodiversity. But all environment agencies are underfunded and overstretched – and ScotGov merger plans will not help.

New immigration stats show that the numbers of asylum seekers in hotels is down to 16k - falling 50% in a year. Small boat crossings down 23% in the year to June. Numbers waiting for initial decision down from almost 180k to 40k.

Phase out fossil fuels together with other countries. Shift subsidies from fossil to clean energy. Price pollution and environmental damage properly. Change the rules so the sustainable choice becomes the easiest and cheapest one.
