My favourite thing about this is that with the main show being off the air I think far more adult fans are going to be watching TARDIS Crew than would have been otherwise, and I just can't wait to see the reactions from the kinds of fans who take things way too seriously #DoctorWho

It's laughable the "mutilating kids" rhetoric is still going. If mainstream journalists were doing their job it would have been debunked long ago for the blatant nonsense that it is.

Judging from the volume of videos on YouTube that are about things people "didn't want to talk about" or "weren't expecting to talk about," it must be very hard to not talk about things

Is it any wonder transphobia is so rampant in the UK when the news outlet that is supposed to be trustworthy cannot be trusted to report on anything to do with trans people accurately or responsibly?

More appalling behaviour from the BBC. ⬇️ A trans person interviewed about their horrific experience having their surgery cancelled whilst in the hospital described as 'biologically female'. And then half the article devoted to praising the work of an unemployed transphobe. 🗣️ DEFUND THE BBC 🗣️

Ahh, unlucky mate. Turns out trans healthcare is still the scientifically and morally correct thing to do. I assume you'll be apologising now? Not sure why you thought the last 5 years would be different to the nearly 100 before that but ok
Some prick from Twitter exactly 5 years ago saying "I do hope in five years when this has been consigned to the rubbish heap that your apology to the legions of mutilated 20somethings will be fulsome and abject, Katy. You're going to have a LOT of explaining to do."

The pining in itself I don't mind so much. It's the immature sparring with Rose that I find most irritating and a disservice to the character

The initial scenes between the Doctor and Sarah in School Reunion are great. Then it all goes downhill with the bitchy rivalry with Rose which feels incredibly contrived. Rose being like that, fine, she's a teenager, but Sarah Jane shouldn't also be regressing to that level of immaturity #DoctorWho

There's a difference between outrage and actually caring about something. Outrage is shallow and impulsive. A lot of people are capable of outrage. Not many people are capable of caring.

Also "glimmer of hope" really makes it sound like transphobes are the underdog, when they chose to attack a marginalised group and are very much succeeding in dismantling rights for that group right now

It really gives the game away when the anti trans orgs are calling the election of the neo nazi party in Germany a "glimmer of hope."
A screenshot of an online article headline from "Inspecting Gender" by Genspect. The main heading reads: "Germany: A Glimmer of Hope for Sex Realists?" Below the title, the summary text asks: "Is the victory of the AfD in Germany a dark day for democracy or a glimmer of hope for sex realists? By David Allison." The bottom metadata displays the Genspect logo, "5 hours ago," and a "Listen" audio option button. In the top right corner, there is a teal "Subscribe" button alongside a circular profile avatar.

10 years ago in my country trans people were existing just the same as they do now. People could use whatever bathrooms they wanted. It wasn't a problem. Largely nobody really cared or thought it was "harming women" or any such thing. The outrage was entirely manufactured.

If you’re feeling like a rewatch of The Sarah Jane Adventures, now is a good time. The Whoniverse on iPlayer was launched three years ago in RTD’s plan to collect everything Who-ish in one place. Some programmes had limited options but were renewed annually (Torchwood, IIRC) while RTD was in charge.

The thing about the current state of BBC and British TV is it's extremely complicated, there are many factors, nobody on Bluesky has the answer, that answer certainly isn't "just make Doctor Who cheaply", and we should let the experts sort it out. Unless you do, in fact, have a better plan.

And you might say "what system would you replace capitalism with?" That's a valid question worth asking, but in the world I'm imagining it wouldn't really matter what system is used. In the world I imagine, with a humanity that is actually compassionate, nobody would even want to be a billionaire.

The planet we live has abundant resources, it would take so little for us to collectively agree to share them somewhat fairly as opposed to a tiny percentage hoarding everything. It doesn't have to be perfect, just so no one is starving, desperate, homeless etc. Doing that would be painfully easy.

This may be an out there opinion, but I think utopia, or something approaching utopia would actually be pretty easy to achieve, if we could all just start being compassionate. A mind boggling amount of what makes the world we live in not a utopia is so blatantly, needlessly self-inflicted by us.
