Has anyone seen this before? Yesterday, from out of the blue, I saw two things flying together and snapped a couple blurry photos. But when I got home to review my photos, I see this kingbird is riding the back of this juvenile red-tailed hawk! Crazy.... P.S. Moon-shot #birds #Nature

against a deep blue sky, we see the underside of a large hawk flying from left to right. On top of the neck, we see a gray headed kingbird attached to the hawk looking down at the hawk's head. A blurry half-moon is seen at 12 o'clock.

I had reposted this post from my husband's account a week or so ago. I have since deactivated his account since he passed away earlier this month. But I saved this screenshot to keep his words alive.

Bluesky post from Kraven @pabbi.bsky.social from 4 months ago"

"Reflecting on combat I have witnessed and participated in I swore after the things I did and witnessed, I WOULD NEVER PICK UP ARMS TO HUNT MEN AGAIN!! PTSD/Cancers and terminal lung disease . . .I did my part already, and paid a heavy price . . . I will again defeat fascism, but at what personal cost!

He included 3 pictures with his post
1. A picture of him as a 21-year-old Marine called to active duty for the Gulf War, in a green Y-shirt over a white long-sleeve shirt and his dogtags visible, looking out over a banister.
2. A picture of the Marine Corps "Hook, Ball, and Eagle" with the words, I am a MARINE, for the love of god know the difference and stop calling me a soldier, It's insulting!! A soldier can't say "I am an Army", a sailor can't say "I am a Navy", and an airman can't say "I am an Air Force", only we can say "I am a Marine!" I earned my title and would appreciate it if you use it.
3. picture of a Marine kneeling in front of a helmet, gun, and boot memorial to a fallen brother, says I am not a Hero, but I did have the honor of walking beside a few.

I have to smile when white suprematists talk about “reverse racism” because they are unwillingly admitting that racism is alive and well in America. Otherwise, there would be nothing to reverse.
