Three decades ago I would look at the miniatures in the old Battletech Master Rules as inspiration. Now, in 2026, my own miniatures are in the new Core Rulebook and my name is in the credits. Feels good man, it's a bucket list achievement for sure. (still got my old book too) #battletech

This is the most popular shirt I own, and I live in an area full of Zionist Boomer evangelicals. At first people would give me a thumbs up or "love your shirt bro", but it's escalated to them THANKING me for wearing it and shaking my hand. Fuck Israel.

I was playing Cthulhu, Death May Die with Hastur yesterday afternoon out on my front porch and I guess Cthulhu didn't appreciate this much because a huge storm rolled in outta nowhere and a massive blast of wind hurled half the game out into the rain swept parking lot.

There's been some back-and-forth on Mercs versus Clans, but on a visual and gameplay level Clans is just so, so much better. It's smoother, more responsive, has WAY BETTER jump jets, and much better mission design. #gaming #mechwarrior #battletech

In around 26-hours, the new #MadCatII video will be live on my channel. It's all set and ready to go. But before it drops, I wanted to show off an amazing piece by @alblackwell.bsky.social that's in the video, and is the opening shot even. Video link here: youtu.be/JfJN6bdARvk #Battletech

-The picture demonstrates a Mad Cat Mk II, adorned in a custom Clan Sea Fox colour scheme. It shows the mech storming a facility on the beach, which appears to be a freight-centre.

-There is a downed defender's mech as well, which has clearly been torn apart and is burning after being struck by enemy fire.

-To the bottom left of the image is a Warhammer IIC and Hammerhead, which were presented in an art-piece before.

-Lighting streaks across the sky.

-A Hurricane rolls through the area, drenching the area in wind and rain.

-The Mad Cat Mk II itself is also in the process of firing its LRM's.

-Overall, the idea came together when me and Alan talked about this being a follow-up to an art piece he'd done for me before. I think it's pretty cool.

This strive to remove the humanity from our lives always reminds me of Kurt Vonnegut insisting on buying single stamps despite the inconvenience, or rather, because of doing so.

A screenshot of a Kurt Vonnegut quote: "Oh, she says well, you’re not a poor man. You know, why don’t you go online and buy a hundred envelopes and put them in the closet? And so I pretend not to hear her. And go out to get an envelope because I’m going to have a hell of a good time in the process of buying one envelope. I meet a lot of people. And, see some great looking babes. And a fire engine goes by. And I give them the thumbs up. And, and ask a woman what kind of dog that is. And, and I don’t know. The moral of the story is, is we’re here on Earth to fart around. And, of course, the computers will do us out of that. And, what the computer people don’t realize, or they don’t care, is we’re dancing animals."

I have two big problems with Cthulhu: Death May Die. 1. The game board is just too small for these minis. The board components need to be double in size. 2. It goes from being straightforward to far too many status effects to keep track of in the late game. #miniatures

I'm increasingly conflicted on this thing. On one hand, the ferro-lam really does add an entire unexpected level of durability to the armor. But on the other, if someone consistently smashes a side torso, it's going down hard. It's also a pretty lackluster Primary config. #battletech

The other thing that is actually interesting is the Black Library's Horus Heresy series kind of became an entire thing unto itself with a presumably good sized non 40K fanbase. However, the Horus Heresy is rather famously NOT the main setting of 40K and serves mostly as a distant prequel to it.

The debate about Warhammer 40K's "lore" was at least useful for jogging my memory about how we used to universally call all this stuff "fluff" in mild derision. "Lore" as a term seems entirely due to the activity of YouTubers in the 2010s.

The Timberwolf is my all time favorite 'mech going way back to the mid 1990s. It's aesthetically perfect and the chassis is highly optimized. The Prime is far from perfect, but the LRM20s give it some dangerous burst damage. The A config is a deadly Warhammer clone. #battletech
