Denmark sends $275 million in emergency military aid to Ukraine
Denmark is providing Ukraine with an emergency military aid package, the Danish government's 31st aid package for the country, valued at about $275 million. The funds are set to bolster Ukraine's air defense capabilities during the crucial autumn and winter period, according to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine .
Ukraine's Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara thanked his Danish counterpart, Troels Lund Poulsen, for following through on commitments made during a phone call earlier in the week. Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, Denmark has been one of the leading providers of military assistance to Ukraine and continues to develop new, effective forms of cooperation.
"We are grateful to Denmark's government and parliament for their principled stance and support for Ukraine, especially amid Russian hybrid attacks and provocations against our allies. Together, we are stronger!" the Ministry of Defense added.
Earlier, the US State Department officially approved a new aid package for Ukraine worth $2.68 billion. Major items in the package include radars, missiles for countering drones, and specialized equipment. It was also reported that Poland will supply Ukraine with scarce missiles for the Patriot air defense system as part of an upcoming military aid package. The deliveries are being coordinated with NATO allies, including the US administration.
