what these people actually want from art is *comfort*: the comfort of never being challenged even a little bit, of knowing nothing is hard and you never have to try. i think any attempt to define 'art' is necessarily reactionary but even then i think the last thing art can or should be is that

these people have the exact same disdain for craft as llm dorks do; that the only thing that matters is to have conceived of something, no matter how banal or ill-considered. so it's not surprising these people would be the most threatened by llm's and also by the concept of quality—

this idea that b/c it's inherently noble to have produced quote unquote creative work (and i'm not sure if i'm ready to grant it is), therefore all creative work is *equally* valuable and the only thing that matters is that *you* made it
