We are getting to a point where speculative factory lines are in fact trying to factory print a house. I worry that all it takes is for an AI to play engineer at the wheel and thousands of houses start falling apart. (In the same way boeing planes are now notably more dangerous to fly).

I like the problem solving angle a lot more than the ‘artful’ one. When you stagnate problem solving you also make it harder to debug manually. Code is a lot like the foundations that build houses but for software on the computer. Something breaks you cant fix it, thats a house in disarray.

without trying to conduct any induvidual sympathies i think the internals of these companies are conducted in such a way you should stick your neck out as a point of showing your 'passion' for what you do. it seems at least sometimes like a 'layoff avoidance tactic'.

tech workers act different because their work culture and salaries make them full of themselves and in the process they become exploited as human adverts. its a desperate bid at maintaining brand equity that puts bodies on the stage. even if the higher ups approve entirely its wrong fundamentally.

i work at a gas station and we dont leave sarcastic snippy comments laying around for higher ups or as putdowns targeting induviduals. we dont tell customers our work drama. its quite literally just conducive to a toxic work environment and it would be detrimental to any other industry.

it was pretty lame and im bummed out but it was not too devestating all things considered and it was just spacemaking more than anything. on the contrary it did get me to not put much of my relative ego in gaming growing up and caused some humillity there. and 'digitized' my library early lol.

ah my parents just threw away the game boxes and put them in giant disc sleeve containers. made it insufferable for trying to find games to play and would 'pair down' tech ie 'you dont need a gamecube anymore its on the wii' or 'CRTs are useless lets just get rid of this'.
