As it'd turn out, Mario Odyssey 2 was real, but has been cancelled. Nintendo's attempt at implementing a "real-time learning" AI for their character would unfortunately result in Mario adapting a rude, uncooperative personality, leading to most of the team departing the project.

Initially, 'Final Fantasy 7 Remake' had plans to release on the Nintendo Switch. This changed when developers were unable to find a fix for various critical performance issues on time, resulting in the port's cancellation. The source of these performance issues remains unknown.
