Explaining to the 9 year old that we're seeing the author of the Montgomery Bonbon books, @misterabk.bsky.social, tonight but, no, she can't come along. She will get read more of book 4 by my mum, so that's satisfied.

Oh, yes, I'd forgotten! I think the Dark Forces being missed off the third game drove me mad at the time.

It bothered me growing up that "Star Wars: Dark Forces" was followed up by "Star Wars Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight" and then "Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast". That's some crazy colon work and series naming.

I've been working on this little garden for the past year, and today it's finally open! 🌱 Chomp Garden is out now on Steam! A bite-sized puzzle adventure where you play as a tiny lamp, guide strange plants with light, and find your lost pup! store.steampowered.com/app/4457150

Went down a Wikipedia rabbit hole looking up all these rare and unrealised machines, so great to see them displayed

I've been meaning to play it as a big fan of both of those, but I'm also torn about maybe waiting until the full Steam version comes out "soon" bsky.app/profile/celi...

At 39 I'm not a fan of the "minus 5 years" part as that puts me there already. Just dividing average by 2 gives me a couple more years or so.

It's highly unlikely, of course, and Indy 500 qualifying does clash with F1, which is a big blocker for Alonso
000
Matt Bailey @epsilonzero.co.uk · 16/09/2026
No Indy 500 clash *and* no Le Mans clash. Wondering if Honda could get Alonso in an Andretti or Ganassi to complete the triple crown. Or maybe McLaren or Ford could run Norris or Verstappen in their new Hypercars.

For those in the niche of having Xbox One Promo Discs they got for games to review in the period before it all went to codes, I can confirm I was able to redeem my Konami-provided copy of PES 2016.

Gave the Xbox disc-to-digital system a go and it just worked, but then it made me realise I only have 3 Xbox One games on disc. I think Game Pass killed off buying "full price" games for that machine (and when I did buy them I got them on the PS4 digital or disc instead)

I think the world is finally ready for a new Auto Modellista, a game which, according to MobyGames, I was ready for a sequel when I reviewed it all the way back in 2003.
Screenshot from MobyGames showing an excerpt from my allaboutgames.co.uk review of Auto Modellista, which I gave 7 out of 10 in 2003, and said "Roll on Auto Modellista 2". Which hasn't happened... yet.

I only got a disc in the post, but had to rush through MGS4 for review in a weekend because my PS3 was at my parents' house and I was away on a summer placement during the week. I remember lying down on the bed to watch the many cutscenes. Placement did pay for an HDTV to play it, though.

With the children at the grandparents' for the day we've taken the opportunity to go to Kew as just a couple for the first time in a decade. Which also meant we could climb all the stairs for the view at the top of the Pagoda

Now trying to calm down after that government alert. In an increasingly unstable world you immediately assume it's something terrible, and while the fire risk is not insignificant, I didn't need that kind of panic to be told not to start up a disposable BBQ or set off fireworks.

Been lucky enough to play this with two different groups of friends the last couple of nights, two different absolutely excellent experiences. I had to hold off on the second group to avoid spoiling puzzles, but a lot changes depending on how you work together. Highly recommend.

On the boxes not the consoles themselves. Although I like the idea that Sony is going house-to-house with a sticker to put on your PS5, probably over the disc drive slot to make it clear.
