This would be an excellent PR opportunity for churches to loudly proclaim they have women's backs by condemning sex assault but I guess preaching hatred is the bigger agenda.

It's also one of the things that seems to trigger reality breaks. Talking a lot at a bot even in a non-real imaginary context as a character in a story you know is pretend is dangerous, we really should not let these uses become normalized. These programs literally kill people. Often children.

Everybody wants you to talk to a book character on their service because it keeps people on the platform for hours and hours and hours and they get money when you do that.

Chatbots for RPing (not even only for sexy roleplaying, plenty of it is extremely mundane) is one of the only things making AI companies money right now. Millions of people use character chat services, it's a thriving market. It's ALSO incredibly dangerous. www.nytimes.com/2026/04/04/t...

If you are already feeling stretched by gas/groceries, a big hike in your Medicare or ACA plans will plunge your monthly finances into the red. Options become cut something elsewhere (if anything left to cut), or gamble with foregoing the coverage. Lots of ACA peeps will forego…and be at huge risk

If you believe "real Christians" choose justice and love, you could at least write letters to the Pope asking him to actually lead in an issue there is literally no downside for being on the right side of history about, if you're not a hateful bigot about trans people (which the Catholic Church is).

The point of suppressing information about queer and trans people is that more of us do not successfully make it to adulthood alive, have adult lives of meaning and happiness. That's genuinely the goal. They want us to die. I'm never going to be on team "why can't queers just hide and be hidden"

You aren't a writer if you're asking a puke machine to spit out ideas modeled after books people like me actually wrote. The EASIEST part of the job is the idea. That's why real writers are asked 1700 times if they want to "go halfsies" on someone else's idea while the writer does the labor.

And that has always been the problem with the way AI pushers and the credulous people who seem to be doing most the reporting talk about "AI"'s feelings and "pain": they are far more willing to believe that "AI" feels pain than actual living human beings or non-human animals, even. Its dehumanizing.

Extremely sexist and unhinged superficially so-called anti AI people and spaces exist. Probably because loads of sexists exist, but we don't have to tolerate them. Being anti-fascist should be a low bar, and being against sexism isn't difficult to maintain at a community-level unless it's tolerated.
