Contrary to public perception a huge % of pregnant teenagers in the 1990s were impregnated by adult men. The younger they were, the larger the average age gap between mother and father was. Fixing teen pregnancy was in part a clampdown on statutory rape. That's what conservatives want to reverse.

One of the things I love about Japanese is that very few words are gendered and pronouns are barely used at all. The second thing in particular helped me understand how often pronouns really serve no function in English

This is something I think about a lot and I think ultimately it's because younger generations of gays do not feel "others" to same extent we did so there is less incentive for them to seek out community with other people who've been excluded from society
