In New York, 3 million people rely on SNAP. Ensuring they can still eat will take $700 million per month, but we have $29 billion in reserves. Governor Hochul can call a special session immediately to move the money. Our members of Congress can condition ending the shutdown on getting reimbursed. 🧵

It is worth noting that the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" is incredibly unpopular. I haven't seen a single credible poll with support above 40% of adults. And that's just if you ask people, "Do you support the OBBB." If you poll them about the individual components, it's 30+ points underwater.

But, once the early Medicaid loss group began losing LIS, these folks started filling fewer prescriptions than those who still had LIS. Around this time, mortality rates diverged for these two groups. After both groups lost LIS, prescription fills converged; so did death rates. (9/11)
