You're familiar with the genre.

It took a lot of scrolling to find where I'd reposted this one (turns out it was in 2017):
Image shows a screenshot from a Facebook repost of a tweet by user AndrewCFrancis.

The OP's comment above a screenshot from the News tab of the wn.com website is: "Why you don't let an algorithm pick the photo to go with your news article..."

The article headline reads: "Second Doctor Arrested in US Female Genital Mutulation Case". The photo below is from the TV show Doctor Who, and shows the second actor who played the title character, Patrick Troughton. He is in costume as the Doctor, blowing into a recorder with the interior walls of the TARDIS control room behind him.

The start of the article is visible below the photo. It says "US authorities on Friday arrested a Detroit doctor and his wife for allowing another doctor to perform female genital mutilation on minors at their clinic in Michigan. In a case that has drawn international attention, Fakhruddin Attar, 53, and his wife, Farida Attar, 50, were charged with conspiring with Jumana Nagarwala, 44."

I used to joke that my coffee intake said I had ADHD but my tendency to hyperfocus at the drop of a hat said if I had any less ADHD I'd be in a coma. Then someone described ADHD as a deficit in the ability to *control* attention instead of a deficit of attention and it suddenly made sense.

Use a stick blender to chop and mix garlic with olive oil then freeze it in an ice cube tray. It not only makes the garlic last longer, it also means the oil's built in when you fry it.

I like the ginger tip! I always seem to end up with shrivelled remnants in the bottom of my fridge, so I avoid buying it due to some sort of pre-guilt.

I do that sort of thing often, except I somehow add crumbs and dirty dishes to the kitchen bench, then still end up with no hoodie.

Excellent plan. He hadn't realised how potentially suspicious his glasses looked until I pointed it out to him. To him they're just the same glasses as always.

Damn it! Now I'm going to have to make something at least the size of a hand towel. See you all in a year or two.

I found my experimental piece, which shows that I should clear the junk off the table behind the couch more often. I can't imagine making something the size of a hand towel, let alone a bedspread.
A colour photo showing a crumpled 6-point lace star made from relatively coarse thread being held on the palm of an open hand. The star has two loose threads hanging off the far side where I clearly lost interest before finishing it properly. In the background a small plastic box holds the printed pattern for making the star, a couple of tatting shuttles, and a few small tatted pieces from previous attempts.

I tried tatting last year because I was curious about how much work would have been involved. After spending a week or two learning the basics it took me a several days to make something the size of my palm.

My partner has worn wide-rimmed glasses very similar in shape to these for at least the last 20 years. He's going to try a different style when he gets his next pair.

My grandmother tatted a queen-size bedspread, basically just to prove she could. She had no use for it once finished, so she gave to to the almost complete stranger across the road as a wedding gift.

The last time I needed a security clearance I tried to include more than the standard number of committed, long-term partners, but the form just wasn't set up to record polyam relationships. On the phone they said just to leave it blank because I wasn't actually living with either of them.

Yes. I had 10 years of annual "can I get my tubes tied now please?" notes in my medical file before I was given a referral, and even then a hypothetical future partner was given as much say in the matter as I was.

My partner had never seen it, so I recently got to watch it with a first-timer. It had been long enough between rewatches that I'd forgotten when some things took place, so I think I spoiled a few "important person or one-off nobody?" character introductions for him.

I miss a manual transmission less than I expected when I got an EV. There's no wait for the car to notice it should change gear as in an auto, and I can mostly* use the regenerative braking hand controls to fill the same function as downshifting to engine brake. *unless the battery is already full.

One of the cafes listed on their website is 2 doors from our WA office, but when I looked up their hours Google says it's permanently closed. I've been working off-site for so long that I don't know if that's true or not, so I'll take the long way home after work tomorrow and see what I find.

I bought too much random stuff on a work trip, so I went to the market for a small suitcase. Unfortunately I got that first, so by the time I finished wandering around the rest of the market it was full.

I basically write in 10pt Arial. My note-taking got worse after I started taking ADHD meds. It used to be semi-automatic; I'd get to the end of the class or meeting, and it would all just be there on the page. Now my attention doesn't split that way anymore.

I'd joked about having ADHD for years based on my coffee intake, because how could hyperfocusing to the point of forgetting to eat until 3am be a sign of an attention *deficit*? If i paid any more attention I'd forget to blink. Then someone online described it as an attention *control* deficit.

Non-questionnaire diagnosic tools are very useful if you've spent 45 years building coping skills to hide ADHD. I was heading for a Bad at Adulting diagnosis until I took a TOVA (20 min of hitting a button when the shapes are right while an IR camera records my face).
Screenshot showing a section from a test report.

A title at the top reads "1. Objective QbCheck Result".
Beneath that there is a speedometer-style scale labelled as "QbCheck ADHD Total Symptom Level". It is coloured and marked with 80% green on the left-hand low side, 13% grey most of the way toward the high side, and 7% red at the high end of the scale on the right. The needle is pointing to the middle of the red section.

The text reads: "The test taker had a QbCheck ADHD Total Symptom Score of 75. A score above 50 represents a high likelihood for having ADHD-like symptoms.
The test taker's Total Symptom Score equals a high ADHD Total Symptom Level. About 7% of the general population display a similar level of ADHD-like symptoms."

A second title reads "Detailed QbCheck Result". It is followed by 4 cross-hair graphs collectively labelled "Activity Graph" and then individually with "Q1" to "Q4". They each have little squiggles near the centre and no further explanation.

Below that is a long graph titled "Attention and Impulse Control Graph". It shows 20 minutes duration (divided into 4 secions labelled "Q1" to "Q4") on the x-axis, and reaction time on the y-axis. There is also a scattering of 25-ish short vertical lines along the x-axis, labelled as "omissions". There are clusters of them in the Q3 and Q4 sections.
A legend lists green circles as markers for "Correct Response", and red squares as "Commission error".
A string of over 100 green circles and 3 red squares is scattered along the length of the graph, mostly at a height between 25% and 50% of the reaction time scale.

A "catch up" streaming service for a free-to-air TV channel, advertised as allowing me to watch a program from the start after the broadcast has already begun, but which cuts the stream off when the broadcast ends, meaning I don't get to see the last x minutes.

In highschool we watched all but a few minutes of The Thrill Of It All (1963), then wrote how we thought it would end. It's about a woman becoming a spokesmodel. Her husband doesn't like her celebrity and gives her an ultimatum: him or her new life. None of us got the "happy ending" choice correct.
