i just read something about grief from C.S. Lewis and his book, “A Grief Observed” basically, when someone you love dies, it isn’t just them that you miss, but the parts of yourself that person brought out of you that can never be brought out again. i feel that with my dad.

@saranahmed.bsky.social also radicalised me!⚠️ Living a feminist life helped me navigate everyday backlash back when I first started learning about feminism, activism & research. Sara's work continues to be as transformative & energising!
A hand holds up two books both by Sara Ahmed in front of a colourful bookshelf. The front book is 'No Is Not a Lonely Utterance: The Art and Activism of Complaining' with a minimalist white cover and red and black text. The other book is entitled 'Complaint!' and has a cover image of a closed white door.

the post office is a public service. it doesn’t need to make money. public transit doesn’t need to make money. the library doesn’t need to make money. some things exist for the public good and we desperately need lawmakers to stop thinking about them in terms of capitalism. these are not businesses.

Songs and Fancies lies open in a display case, with a person kneeling down to look at it closely. The photograph is taken close up, with the book in the foreground.

The EHRC recently consulted on guidance for services across Britain that would mean trans people are often excluded and segregated. That's closed, but you can still make a difference. Email the UK Minister for Equalities to ask for safe inclusive services: scottishtrans.org/emailfortransinclusion
Text which reads “Tell your MP and the Minister for Equalities that trans people need access to services too! Email in 2 minutes here: Scottishtrans.org/emailfortransinclusion” above illustrations of protest placards which read “Inclusion not exclusion” and “No segregation! Trans liberation!” with the Scottish Trans logo in the corner
