I think all the work I put into Cogwheel Souls (out in Swedish now, later this year in English by @ellipsisimprints.bsky.social ) really helped me tame the terror. A lot is based on psychotic experiences. I used to be terrified of the demon Skinmask who appears as an antagonist in the script. (1/2)

Thirteenth-century fresco from the chapel at Hocheppan castle in South Tyrol, modern Italy. The colourful, but weathered picture shows a woman in a long green dress with fashionably wide sleeves crouching beside a cooking hearth. Her left hand stabilises the handle of a large, deep cooking vessel placed over the fire while she hold a kettlehook in her right. She has just used it to take food from the pot and moved it to her mouth. The light-coloured, round object she is eating is traditionally interpreted as a dumpling.

It really helped me see what is possible as well in terms of combining short stories of all sorts in one world from different perspectives, lengths, types, etc. I have a few stories hanging around (written and in my head) that can be connected, and this has given me a little push to do it!
