Cadini di Misurina from the Tre Cime. Fog filling the valley, one cloud snagged on the tallest summit. #EastCoastKin #Photography #Fuji #PhotographersofBlueSky #PhotographersUnited #LandscapePhotography #Stunday #MountainMonday
A range of jagged limestone spires fills the middle of the frame. The tallest peak sits right of center, its summit wrapped in a thin cloud. To its left a slimmer tower rises on its own, and the ridge steps back to the far left in paler, bluer layers. A band of white-lavender fog lies in the valley below the spires. The sky grades from pale blue at the top through lavender to pink at the horizon. Warm orange light touches the upper faces of the spires and a large pale buttress at lower right, while their shadow sides stay cool violet-gray. The foreground is dark rust-brown tundra scattered with gray stones.

The image is built on warm and cool contrast inside a narrow violet-to-pink palette. Each ridge is lighter and bluer than the one in front, which gives clear depth, and the horizontal fog band sets off the vertical spires. The dark foreground anchors the lower edge and the lit buttress at right balances the tall peak. The mood is quiet and still, in the lineage of classic alpine landscape work.

A liveaboard safari yacht anchors just beyond, with a smaller dive boat beside it. Toward the right, a smaller vessel sails on a sunset cruise. The sea reflects a purplish sky and a hint of red from the setting sun. Clouds fill the sky at every level. The light shifts from gold to yellow to light blue and purple as it rises, with red streaks in lighter clouds from the sun’s rays.

Harvest Moon Rising harvest moon clearing the ridge in val gardena. the dolomites take a bite out of everything, even the moon. #EastCoastKin #Photography #Fuji #PhotographersofBlueSky #PhotographersUnited #Stunday #classicmono #naturalmomo #astrophotography
A nearly full moon rises from behind a dark mountain ridge, sitting slightly below the center of an otherwise black frame and spanning a little over a third of its width. Only the upper portion of the disc is visible. The ridge is pure black silhouette with no visible detail, and its edge is ragged: a rounded hump of rock on the left, a narrow notch near the center where a sliver of moonlight drops lower between two shoulders of stone, and a flatter, blockier line of towers across the right. The moon is a soft, slightly warm gray-white, its surface rendered in sharp detail: darker gray plains across the upper and right areas, bright rayed craters, and dense pitted texture toward the edges. The sky is solid black, with no stars or clouds.

The image works on one hard contrast: a luminous, finely textured sphere against a featureless black mountain in an empty field. With the land reduced to silhouette, the ridge reads as a cutout rather than terrain, and its broken edge becomes the only line in the frame, giving the moon's smooth geometry something to push against. The wide negative space, especially above, keeps attention on the moment of emergence rather than on setting. It belongs to a long tradition of moonrise photography but trades the usual scenic context for compression and restraint.

Black and white architectural photograph of the Marina City towers in Chicago, nicknamed "the corncobs" for their distinctive scalloped, cylindrical concrete form designed by architect Bertrand Goldberg. Low-angle view emphasizing the repetitive curved concrete balconies spiraling up the tower. An American flag on a pole is visible to the left. High contrast monochrome composition highlights strong geometric patterns and rhythmic shadow. The commercial building of Marina City was home to legendary Chicago radio station WCFL, "Chicago's Voice of Labor," a 50,000-watt AM station broadcasting on 1000 kHz. WCFL moved into the 16th floor of Marina City's office tower in 1965, switching to a Top 40 format that year to compete directly with rival station WLS, and remained there for the next twenty years until the mid-1980s. The station also maintained a "VIP Room" on the fifth floor where its on-air DJs hosted listener events and record parties.
