Dropping in to share my utterly inconsistent playlist for The Imposter King series. (All are bops, albeit amongst vastly different genres.) open.spotify.com/playlist/21G...

Forget a live-action adaptation of my books, I want a Blue Eye Samurai-style adaptation with the raw beauty and mindful composition of traditional animation yet also the dimensionality of CGI. #WritingCommunity

The dragon was not the captor and the princess not a prisoner, the beast was a loyal protector and the maiden was safe🐉

I feel for people trying to sell my data to advertisers. I'm not consistent in my hyper-fixations, and my search history is a testament to that.

I’m still doing #Inktober, despite not having posted recently! I’ve been away all week for a work trip, but now that I’m back home, I’ll be able to upload my newest doodles soon. 🖊️

I'm not one to bang on about "we need to be nice to men!!1", but recently I feel it's worth stating that masculinity =/= toxic masculinity. Positive, healthy masculinity is very much a thing that exists and deserves to be celebrated.

My Inktober submissions for days 13-15, rise, castle, and dagger. I think I’m getting.. better? Increased practice leads to improvement?! What a concept! I think getting smaller pen nibs helped, too 😆

For day 11 of Inktober, wander, I did some book-monster art! Here’s a scene from book 3 of The Imposter King, featuring one of the wandering yiridim, monstrous half-wolf half-boar creatures.

Today’s Inktober, ‘fortune’! I drew a fish based on some decor I saw in Hong Kong Park around Lunar New Year some years ago (which I also happened to take a picture of). This little guy always stuck with me! I don’t feel I did him justice, but he made for good practice. 🖊️

Catching up on Inktober! Here are my submissions for golden (for which I chose a ginkgo tree), drip, toad, and bounce. I actually really enjoyed drawing the froggy! 🌳🕯️🐸🏀

Lamassu are a human faced, winged bull creature/deity found in Mesopotamian cultures. Mesopotamia being a historical region where the Sumerians, Akkadians, Assyrians and Babylonians lived over different eras. They're protectors who embody strength, intelligence, and freedom✨

Tips for making friends as an adult? I live in a suburban area, almost rural, and most events in my community are kids or faith based, neither of which is for me. I’ve looked at writing & art groups, but they’re over an hour away into town!

Girl breakfast
Coffee cup (topped with whipped cream) that says “good things come to those who work their asses off.” Next to it is a copy of Who Cooked the Last Supper: The Women’s History of the World. A highlighter’s on it.

At last, I've decided on my next books' titles! Book 3 of The Imposter King series will be "The Wayward Heir," and book 4 will be "The Warring Pilgrim." Thank you to everyone who helped me make this decision--but most especially to @happyhermitltd.bsky.social for finding the perfect adjective!

Here are the articles and books I went through in my research for book 3 in the Imposter King series! I went over everything from ancient Akkadian demons to linen production to marsh life and more, and got a TON of excellent fodder for book 3. (Also, Jstor is bae.)
A stack of books and highlighted, printed articles viewed from above. The first few books are The First Ghosts by Irving Finkel, The Marsh Arabs by Wilfred Thesiger, and then Ancient Mesopotamian Religion by Tammi Schneider. Beneath that are standard printed articles with their titles highlighted.A close up of some articles. These are Spinning in the 5th Millennium in the Southern Levant: Aspects of the Textile Economy, and The Sacred Marriage in Early Times of Mesopotamia. The other titles are obscured.Another close up of articles. They are Demons in the Hebrew Bible and the Ancient Near East, and Astral Divination in the Context of Mesopotamian Divination, Medicine, Religion, Magic, Society, and Scholarship.
